”Don’t-...”But it was already too late. Even as Victoria felt her knees giving way and her body sliding down his toward the floor, she could feel him beginning to retreat from her. He was afraid of what had happened. He hadn’t experienced an episode like this...not since his release from Azkaban. Because she had done everything that she could possibly think of to spare him from seeing her like that. From seeing the weakness that had taken over her body and left her useless to both herself and her profession. He held on for such a brief moment that she couldn’t even try to hold onto him. He was moving away from her almost as quickly as he could once she was safely deposited on the floor. Her arm wrapped itself around her side, teeth grit against the agonizing burn as Vic slumped further toward the ground. Her other hand reached for him, stretching as far as she possibly could...but he wasn’t there. And through the haze of her tears, she couldn’t see him at all. ...it was over. In that single moment Victoria was faced with the bitter reality that her marriage had come to an end. Alain couldn’t even stand to be near her now. He didn’t touch her because he was likely repulsed by the fact that she was now reduced to such a lowly state with barely any contact between them. And the bitter blow was almost too much for her to bear. Hot tears moved down her cheeks in fresh waves, her body heaving as the air struggled to make it into her lungs. It wasn’t just her side that hurt now. It was her heart...her whole being. Everything felt like it was ready to shatter and leave only the empty shell of the woman she had once been in its place. Her career...her marriage...both had been taken from her in an instant. And now there was no hope of ever getting either of them back. Were she in a clearer frame of mind she might perhaps have been able to Apparate herself back to the house, so that she could at least find some kind of comfort in the softness of the mattress beneath her. But it hurt too much, and her mind was far too lost to consider such a thing. So instinct took over, causing Victoria to curl up on the cold, dirty floor of the bakery as she sobbed. She wanted so badly to be able to disappear into him the way that she had so many times before. She wanted to feel his arms around her body as she laid her head against his chest, listening to the strong beat of his heart. It had helped ease her to sleep on so many nights that Victoria had lost count of them early on in their relationship. That much hadn’t changed after they were married. Perhaps that was one of the things that had kept her awake when he had been gone. She no longer knew if his heart was even still beating. ”I didn’t even know if you were still alive.”Drawing in a shuddering breath, the blonde fell silent as his hands moved along her body, fingers threading into her hair as his other arm wound around her waist. Victoria froze in his arms. He was trying to tell her about what he remembered, about the terror that he had experienced that day before he had been dragged away to Azkaban...but all she could feel was the dangerous burn in her right side from where his arm had pressed against her. She pressed her lips together, desperate to keep the painful try in her throat. But her body betrayed her. Hot tears continued to pour from her eyes as Victoria stiffened further and her knees buckled. It was too much. Even all this time after the accident her wounds had still not healed properly. They hurt to be touched. She was forced to rely on magic to keep it protected just long enough for her to shower right now. And there seemed to be nothing at all that could help to dull the ache she continued to experience. The Healers were confused as to why she suffered so much almost two years later. No one could give her the answers that she needed. Her hands reached blindly for something to hold onto, grabbing firmly at his shirt and arm as she collided sharply with his chest and continued to slide toward the floor. ”It hurts,” she gasped between painful breaths. ”Alain...please…”Having him let go was the absolute last thing that she wanted right now. They had already lost so much time together. If they were to let go now...would that be the end? But the more she felt his arm the more the burn intensified, making it harder and harder for Victoria to catch her breath. Everything hurt. Everything from the tips of her toes up to her lungs and arms...it felt like she was burning with a fire that would not be stopped. Her vision began to blur, head swimming with muddled thoughts and feelings. This-...this was more than a normal attack...more than the normal pain. But Victoria was too caught up in all of it to be able to think clearly and put a name to it. Or even speak. Words were not forming on her tongue. WORD COUNT: 501 TAGGED: ALAIN GREYSONNOTES: </3

Why didn’t he see it? Why didn’t he understand that she was in just as much pain as he was? She hadn’t been locked away in a dreadful place like Azkaban, but she had been left alone. She’d been hurt and afraid and struggling to regain some kind of control over her life without her partner and best friend at her side. She had endured countless treatments at the hospital and had to complete training sessions all over again just so that she would be able to walk normally again. And she had laid awake at night in tears because his side of the bed was cold and empty when all she had wanted was for him to pull her into his arms and hold her broken body against his chest. She had wanted him to tell her that it was going to be okay...that they would be okay… Despite her best efforts, Victoria’s sob made its way out of her throat and shook her entire body. He was standing right there, less than five feet away from her, and she still felt that she was alone in the room. It was like living with a ghost that haunted her in eerie silence, forced to be there but unwilling to scare her the way one might expect from a ghostly apparition. Everything hurt. Nothing felt even remotely right. And it felt like Alain wanted absolutely nothing to do with her when he couldn’t even bring himself to-... His hand gently pressed against her back once more. And as he murmured his weak confession, she could feel his forehead come to rest against her shoulder. It was the closest that they had been in almost nine months, even though they continued to inhabit the same living space. Then his other hand moved gently along her arm, taking the hand that held her wand in his own. ”I needed you,” she sobbed harshly. ”I woke up alone...in the hospital...a-and it hurt so much…” Her brother had stepped out of the room to get himself a cup of coffee at the time. It had been only a few minutes. But her heart rate had spiked dangerously and the Healers had come rushing in to try and calm her, unable to get through to her. It was only when Victoria had seen her brother come through the door that anything began to make sense. Yet when she asked about her husband...about Alain… Her body trembled dangerously as Victoria turned her head a little, feeling her cheek brush against his curly locks. ”You weren’t there,” she whispered weakly. ”I thought...y-you left…” Because the stress of having a wife with her new infirmities was probably too much for most people to handle. She hadn't known how long she had been out at that point. All she knew was that the pain she felt was incredible...but it was absolutely nothing compared to what she had felt when she realized that Alain wasn't coming to see her. ...so he had found her wand for her and pressed it into her good hand. Despite the fact that he too was a wizard, in possession of a wand that was capable of the very same magic that she needed to heal her burn, Alain had elected to hand over her own wand rather than try to help her further. If Victoria hadn’t wanted to break down and sob before, she certainly did now. That one gesture was enough to assure her that their marriage was virtually broken beyond repair. Though he had guided her into the kitchen, his hands had removed themselves from her body as soon as he seemed to realize what he had done. In place of the hand at her back, she felt nothing but a biting cold that chilled her to the bone and caused the goosebumps to rise on her arms and chest. The tears that had previously formed because of the physical pain now returned because of the emotional pain. She turned her head a little when she felt them slipping down her cheeks, trying to hide their presence from him. It felt like a sign that they were well and truly done. He told her again that he didn’t need her to apologize. That despite their estrangement, he was still her husband...but for how long? Was that even true anymore when he could barely stand the idea of touching her like that? It was so unlike how they had been before, when Alain had barely seemed able to get enough of her naked skin beneath his hands. But she was broken now, Victoria reminded herself. Scarred and battered beyond repair...even the healers at the hospital hadn’t been able to remove the now permanent marks on her side. Victoria lifted the hand that now clenched her wand dangerously, rubbing the back of it against her eyes. ”I can’t-...” But the words wouldn’t come. Her shoulders slumped and she ducked her head to try and hide the broken look in her eyes. Done...all she could think about was how their marriage had suffered. How they were finished because they couldn’t communicate anymore. Maybe he didn’t want this now. Maybe he needed it all to end…and wasn't that what her brother had suggested to her only a few short days ago? That perhaps a clean break was needed for either one of them to have a hope in hell of regaining their lives? WORD COUNT: 419 TAGGED: ALAIN GREYSONNOTES: --

Tears rimmed the bottom of her eyes despite her best efforts to keep them at bay. The sting had caught her by surprise, and her body was reacting the way that anyone else might have reacted to such a shock. The tea water had been hot. Too hot for her skin to handle. He had crossed the room and removed the mug from her hand so quickly that Victoria barely had time to register what was happening. And already he was beginning to mutter about needing to find cold water for her to put her hand under. His fingers wrapped around her injured hand, the other at her lower back as he guided her back into the kitchen area where the sink was located. As he unintentionally kicked the mug, Victoria flinched a little. The clatter was rather loud, and she could tell that the mug had been chipped if not broken in his haste to help. But she had also noticed that this was the very first time that Alain had voluntarily initiated contact between them since returning home almost nine months earlier. He had reached for her a few times out of habit, but he had never actually touched her. The distance between them seemed only to grow uncomfortably as they continued to live in the same house, almost avoiding one another like ghosts in the night. The cold water immediately brought relief to her skin, causing her shoulders to sag as she slowly began to exhale the breath that she had been holding. A little more fiddling with the taps brought the water to room temperature so that she didn’t risk damaging the skin any further. ”Sorry,” she murmured again. There were so many things that she had to be sorry for. She hadn’t seen him while he had been in prison. She could hardly look him in the eye because she was afraid of finding someone other than the man that she loved in his bright blue eyes. And when the rest of the world continued to condemn him for viciously attacking another human being, Victoria couldn’t find the voice that she needed to stand up for him. Her good hand held onto the edge of the sink as she slowly breathed in and out. Little by little the ache began to disappear until all she could feel was the water trickling along her skin. She knew it would hurt the minute she turned the water off though. She’d need to use magic in order to heal it properly once she had managed to clear her head. ”It should be okay in a minute,” she told him gently. ”I can heal it. I just...need my wand…” She was sure that she could remember the simple incantations to help alleviate the pain of the burn. She'd used them often enough when Alain had hurt himself on the ovens and refused to have it looked at by anyone else. He had always been rather stubborn. It was something that she had loved about him. WORD COUNT: 511 TAGGED: ALAIN GREYSONNOTES: --

They were so hopelessly lost, and Victoria was beginning to think that their relationship had been shattered beyond repair. For nearly a year he had been locked away in that terrible place, without the ability to see her. Had his brother gone to visit him? Had his father and mother? Part of her would forever think that she should have found a way to get there herself, even if the rest of her family had been unwilling to help her. Broken and confused, Victoria should have summoned the strength to stagger out of the hospital and somehow find a means of getting there. But the journey would have been difficult. Azkaban was a place that precious few people were granted access to, for the prison was located in the middle of the ocean and almost always surrounded by storms and high tides. Without their wands to aid them, the inmates were forced to accept their new reality and succumb to the madness that was often induced by the presence of the Dementors. Any tiny sliver of happiness was sucked away. She was beginning to lose hope that there was anything they could do to save their marriage. All those years of friendship...the years spent loving one another and building each other up...all of that felt like it would soon come to an end. All because she had gotten hurt during one of her very first missions as an Auror, and landed in the hospital. Because she hadn’t been tough enough to handle the job that she spent so long training for. Her father likely thought she was a failure and was just too kind to tell her so. Her whole family was probably ashamed of her for being unable to handle herself, but they took pity on her because of the fact that she was incapable of doing her job. She had been without her husband. If they hadn’t gone to her side in the hospital, she would have been completely and utterly alone. ”Alain…”He had already turned away from her, anxious to look anywhere but into the face of the wife who had betrayed him. Her heart sunk into her stomach. Nine long months and they could still barely stomach the idea of looking one another in the eye. Her shoulders began to slump, her grip on her mug faltering slightly and sloshing hot liquid into her hand. Victoria gasped sharply, doubling her grip with her other hand as she drew the other away. It stung with a force that she hadn't felt in a while, the liquid hitting the floor rather quickly and creating a small puddle at her feet. Not only was her marriage a mess, but she was only adding to the disaster that had become his precious bakery. Vic grit her teeth a little, trying not to let the sting get to her. "I'm sorry," she managed, breathing slowly so that he might not see how she hurt. "I'll get a cloth..."WORD COUNT: 502 TAGGED: ALAIN GREYSONNOTES: --

No, it wasn’t. Though she had done her level best to help him maintain the bakery in her off time, this was where Alain had truly thrived. She had come in from long, dreary shifts at the Ministry to find him hard at work back in the kitchens, flour all over his face and apron as he worked on a new kind of dough, or a fresh batch of cookies that were meant to go out onto the shelves for the hungry patrons. Alain hadn’t truly needed her in order to keep things running smoothly, unless of course it was to mind the counter. When he got busy in the kitchens, his mind tended to focus on his task, and that sometimes meant that he wasn’t always paying attention to the needy customer on the other side of the door. But...as Victoria turned back to look at him, she couldn’t help feel just a little sorry for the poor man. He was trying. He was trying so desperately to regain a small fraction of the life that he had had before Azkaban. Back when they had been happy and healthy and unburdened by the trials of life and reality. ”I don’t really know what I could do,” Victoria confessed. ”I didn’t do much aside from choose a few colours to make sure things didn’t clash too horribly. This-...this was very much your domain, Alain.”And he had kept it like a king. There wasn’t a single day when he left without having wiped down the tables several times and straightened the chairs to his satisfaction. If there were leftover treats, he often gave them to his employees so that they didn’t go to waste. It was only every now and again that he dared to bring anything back to their home, for fear that they would become far too accustomed to the sweets...and that it might inevitably show in their figures. Her blue orbs traveled around the room for a moment, taking in the damage once more. Anything to avoid that look in his eye, that desperate sliver of hope that gnawed at her stomach and filled her with guilt. It made her feel as if she wasn’t doing enough to try and help him make this transition back to every day life...but the truth of the matter was that Victoria was just as lost as he was. She didn’t have the faintest clue of how to handle things now. One move in the wrong direction caused her so much pain that she sometimes ended up a crumpled heap on the kitchen floor. She sighed softly. ”I don’t suppose I can do much else though,” she admitted softly. Not when she was bound to a desk at work and unable to do the thing that she had loved most. All of those years spent trying to earn a place as an Auror, a means of making her father proud...had all been wasted. Victoria hadn’t made a mark on anything. One failed mission and it was all over. The longer she stood there amongst the dust and debris, the more Victoria felt that she just ought to leave. The bakery had once been a thing of joy for the both of them, and now it lay in shambles at her feet. Just like her marriage. Just like her career. Just like everything else that she had worked so hard for. Gritting her teeth in frustration, she rubbed firmly at her cheek to erase the foolish evidence of her tears before winding her arms around her body once more. She could remember so vividly the day that Alain had brought her to this place, when it had been empty and completely void of any life. When he had announced that he was going to build a bakery, she had initially been unsure. The building itself didn’t appear to be prepped for such a thing. Bakeries required ovens and shelves and a kitchen in which all of the confectionary could be handled safely and properly. But as time had progressed and he had shown his tenacity, a picture had begun to take form. Alain had been so proud of this place once. They both had been. One night, about a week before opening, he had brought her in here at midnight to show her the completed picture. Victoria had been giddy with excitement for him...and they had gotten a little carried away in the back. The memory made her cheeks flush softly. Such intimacy hadn’t existed between them since his return. He continued to sleep in the spare room, plagued by the memories of that horrible prison. Her brother had refused to take her to see him because of how vile it was, afraid that her fragile body wouldn’t be able to handle the stress as she continued to recover. No one wanted her to go there. No one wanted her to see him. One of her hands slipped, gingerly pressing against the wound at her side. Even with all of the medicinal magic in the world, they had been unable to restore her skin to what it had been. Now it was riddled with angry scars, marking the place where the curse had struck her and nearly taken her life from blood loss. She was still hazy on the details of who had found her and how...all she knew was that she had woken in the hospital some months later, calling for a man who wasn’t there. She turned when she heard him behind her, startled because she had been so lost in her thoughts. Even now, with two steaming mugs of tea in his hand, he kept his distance from her. She could only touch him if they both reached out, and even then she wasn’t sure if their fingers would make contact at all. ”...thanks.”Victoria took the mug carefully, aiming for the parts that he wasn’t holding until she had taken it into her hands. She knew from the moment she smelled it that he had made an earl grey...a favourite from her school days. How many nights had she spent on the couch in Ravenclaw House, curled up with a mug in her hand as she leaned into his side? How many nights had they both lost sleep because they didn’t want to be parted? It seemed...almost foolish now. ”... ...I’m sure that things can be repaired,” she offered weakly. ”You-...always were good with your hands.”WORD COUNT: 583 TAGGED: ALAIN GREYSONNOTES: --

[nospaces] [attr=class, mainbo] [googlefont="Oswald"][attr=class, titlepage]Victoria Greyson [attr=class, imaje] [googlefont=Belgrano][attr=class, stuffbox] [attr=class, stuffing] [attr=class, headb]about Victoria is the eldest of six children born to William and Adelaide Emerson. Being one-eighth Veela meant that she always had people attracted to her for her looks, something that annoyed her a little in her youth because she never believed that anyone was truly genuine. She and her twin brother drew up with another set of twins, werewolf boys who ended up attending Hogwarts with them when the time came. And while the one boy was keen to strike up a friendship, it seemed that the younger boy was not so sure. It took a few years and several chance encounters for him to open up to her and realize that Victoria was not going to be the kind of person to turn him away. She made it through school with excellent grades, anxious to become an Auror as her father had once been. [break][break] Since graduation, a great many things have happened for Victoria. She saw the opening of her boyfriend's bakery, and got engaged. Following the completion of her training, the two were married. But during one of her field missions, something went horribly wrong. Victoria awoke in hospital some months later with no recollection of what had happened, only to learn that her husband had been sent to Azkaban for attacking the man who had hurt her. In the year that followed, she learned that she would not be able to return to active duty because of her injury and was thus relegated to desk duty. Her husband remained in Azkaban until Christmas 2018, when she returned home from dinner with her family to find him curled up on a rug on the floor. The two have been trying to patch up their relationship, but the process has been incredibly difficult and they have made little progress in the last nine months. [break][break] FRIENDS[break] Friends are an interesting idea with Vic. She tends to give everyone the benefit of the doubt right off the bat, but she isn't the type to trust immediately. As someone who spent some time working as an Auror she's not inclined to just let anyone prance around her life without knowing a little about them. But she's a friendly individual as long as her side isn't hurting her, and she makes herself accessible to her family at all times. Pretty well as long as you don't piss her off or prove to be an idiot she's good with you. [break][break] ENEMIES[break] This is a pretty easy category to slide into. Once you've demonstrated that you're not to be trusted or she takes a disliking to you based on your personality, you get shuffled into this group. There are a number of people from her school days who might also fit in here due to not liking the attention she used to get from people, and she's fine with that. If you're connected to Deatheaters or elitists, you will never escape this list. [break][break] LOVES[break] This category for Vic is pretty well closed for the most part. While she has married her boyfriend from her school days, things between them are currently very rocky and strained. She's unsure of where their relationship will go, but isn't the type to stray or have other relationships on the side. [break][break] RELATIONSHIPS[break] ALAIN GREYSON -- Husband/On the rocks[break] [attr=class, mainbo] [googlefont="Oswald"][attr=class, titlepage]Katherine Lennox [attr=class, imaje] [googlefont=Belgrano][attr=class, stuffbox] [attr=class, stuffing] [attr=class, headb]about Born the youngest of three children, Katherine and her older brothers began their lives in a relatively happy household. Her father was a pureblood wizard who cut ties with his elitist family and married her mother, who was a Squib. With two older brothers running around the household, she was fearless and bold as a child. If she was told she couldn't climb that tree because it was too high or she was too small, she would do it anyway just to prove people wrong. Flying was also a passion, something that she would later use at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, things did not go smoothly and just before Katherine's tenth birthday, her mother took her own life because she was unable to cope with the demons any longer. As a result her father turned to alcohol to deal with his grief and neglected the only child who was left in the household at the time. [break][break] Her relationship with her father has since been patched because of his rehabilitation, but her brothers still blame him for his neglect and disapprove of the way that he handled things. They remain estranged, which puts even more pressure on Katherine to try and find some kind of peace within her family. She has been battling her own demons for quite some time, and now fears that she might end up losing the same way her mother did. She goes back and forth constantly, struggling to cope with the voices in her head and the pressures of school. She's currently in her final year of school. [break][break] FRIENDS[break] For the most part Kate is a friendly person who does her best to at least be kind to everyone. As of late she has found it harder and harder to deal with people though, feeling like they are constantly talking behind her back or plotting to make things difficult for her, so she's very leery about who she trusts. It might take a while until she starts to get better for her to warm up to people again, so if you want to be her friend you either need to be incredibly patient or pretty damn stubborn. [break][break] ENEMIES[break] One the easiest categories to fit into for Katherine is definitely this one. Basically if you piss her off (which can happen very quickly right now) or you're a jerk, you get put into this category. She tries not to hate anyone for their house or their family affiliation, but in light of recent events that can sometimes be difficult to remember. She's angry about a lot of things and tends to push people the wrong way because of it, so she might lose a few friends while she deals with her issues. [break][break] LOVES[break] Kate was never the type to really worry about crushes and the like, especially because she heard some older girls mocking her for her looks in the bathroom back in her fourth year, not knowing that she was hidden away in one of the stalls. This prompted a whole bunch of issues for her, but they didn't stop her from agreeing to go out on a date with her best friend in her fourth year after a rather nasty Quidditch injury sidelined him. She's now quite happy with him, even though he has graduated and now plays Quidditch professionally. Her heart is rather taken by her boyfriend and she's not the type for flings or anything else. One sided crushes, past interests and perhaps some puppy love would be adorable. An obsessive stalker could also be interesting to play with. The following is a list of characters that I would love to see around the site due to their familial ties to Victoria! Most of them are open, with only a few things that I'm really hankering for. So I'm completely open to discussing their personalities, relationships with her and everything else! Any faces that are listed are merely suggestions and can also be discussed!
Please note that the siblings are all 1/8 Veela, though this affects only the females and not the males as per canon.
TWIN BROTHER Twenty-Four. Open House. Open Occupation Being twins and the eldest in the family, I have Victoria and her brother being extremely close, with that strange "twin-lepathy" idea between them. He can't read her mind, but he knows her better than almost anyone, and always knows when she needs him most. He would have been one of the first people that she saw when she woke up in the hospital, and likely ended up having to break the news of her husband's incarceration to her. He would have gotten along with Alain when they were children, but his attitude might have changed since then. Chris Evans is my first suggestion for a face claim because I think they could pass for siblings, but this is open! SISTER #1 Twenty-One. Open House. Open Occupation Being the two closest in age for female children, I would love for these two to have a good relationship as well. It can be as simple as the "big sister/little sister" feel, or perhaps this sister is very maternal and has constantly been checking on Victoria since she woke up. How she feels about Alain is up to you! SISTER #2 Nineteen. Open House. Open Occupation I will leave their relationship entirely up to discussion! BROTHER Seventeen. Open House I will leave their relationship entirely up to discussion! SISTER #3 Fifteen. Open House I will leave their relationship entirely up to discussion!

Name: VICTORIA GREYSONThread: Early Morning Escapes *Location: Diagon Alley The Basics: Still feeling rather overwhelmed by the fact that things don't seem to be progressing between herself and her husband since their reunion, Victoria escapes the house at an insanely early hour and goes to a place where she feels a little calmer and in control...even though there isn't a damn thing open right now.

She couldn’t stand the endless silence in the house any longer. Victoria had always dreaded her days off, but ever since she had learned that her injury would prevent her from returning to the field indefinitely, those days were no longer used to help her relax and recuperate from her work. They were simply empty...days that were spent lost in the troubled thoughts that continued to plague her mind. Things didn’t seem to be improving between herself and Alain. And it was left the blonde to wonder if there was anything left of her marriage that could be salvaged...or if things were just too broken beyond repair. She had tiptoed her way out of the house at some ungodly hour, just as the sun was beginning to appear over the horizon. There would be nothing open at this time, so it seemed almost pointless to go anywhere at all. But Victoria knew that there was one place she could go at this time of day, where she could relish in the stillness without feeling overwhelmed. When she was a safe distance from the house, she closed her eyes and allowed that familiar tug of Apparation to take her away until she was standing in the middle of an empty, cobblestone street. For reasons she still didn’t fully understand, Diagon Alley had been one of the places in her youth where she truly felt at home. The only place that had beaten it out was a spot on the grounds of Hogwarts, a place she hadn’t been able to visit since her graduation. It was simply too dangerous to allow random witches and wizards onto the school grounds while the students were present, and so there were always charms and wards to keep visitors out of unwanted areas. She had no one to visit right now. Certainly not at this time of day. She very seriously doubted that any of her siblings would appreciate her intrusion, nor would they wish to hear about the things that continued to trouble their eldest sister. Her brother might have been more inclined to understand though. As her twin, he often had a sixth sense about when she needed him most. He was the one who had followed her home on that Christmas Eve night, appearing just after Victoria had made the startling discovery of her husband on the rug before the fire. It had been nearly a year since Victoria had seen him...nearly a year since he had been found guilty of assault and imprisoned to Azkaban for attacking the man he believed to be responsible for her hospitalization. By the time she had awoken in St. Mungo’s it had all been over. Vic shoved her hands as deeply into the pockets of her jacket as she could manage. The crisp fall mornings were already upon them, as if summer had left abruptly and left the autumn in its place. And her fingers were not overly appreciative of the fact that she hadn’t thought to bring a pair of gloves along with her. For a moment she simply stood there, letting her eyes wander the narrow roadway that made up Diagon Alley. The hustle and bustle of families preparing to send their children off to school was gone. Potions supplies had been purchased. Summer allowances had been spent on the newest books and broomsticks to accompany the students back to school. Animals had been bought, wands had chosen their wizards...just as they always did. Just as they always would do. It was nice to know that there were still some things in this world that would never change. WORD COUNT: 614 TAGGED: OPEN TO ADULTS NOTES: --
