PLEASE READ

1) Faculty absolutely know that Min-jun is a half-vampire. Their family and their best friend know - otherwise, people don’t. It’s not like it’s some Deep Dark Secret, but they just… aren’t close to people, don’t tell people, would prefer to not have that kind of attention on them if they can help it. Now, your character can TOTALLY pull a PoA!Hermione and have figured that out (if they, for some reason, were paying that much attention?), but I’d prefer it if you chat with me real quick about that first.

2) Right now, the only people that Min-jun is really out to with their Fun Gender Times is his best friend and his sister. Not even the rest of his family, though they definitely know it’s going on, it’s just Unvoiced. So to everyone else, they’re “Miss” Park, sleep in the girl’s dorm, and just wear the boy’s trousers instead of the skirt (which, lbr, they’re not alone in that). So unless your character is the kind to run around asking everyone what their pronouns are (which, uh, as a trans person please don’t do that thnx), everyone is going to think of Min-jun using she/her. It’s totally cool for your character to use that. Do that. If you’re not comfortable using that in your narrative prose, use they/them, but conversation-wise people would still use she/her unless they like… Suspect there’s some trans shit going down. (Which! Valid!)

3) This year, Min-jun came back with a legally changed name to Min-jun. (Their name before was Min-[REDACTED]. I would prefer not to deadname Min-jun unless your character truly would, but most people call them ‘Park’ anyway.) They claimed it was a Korean family tradition thing, and everyone was just sort of like ‘huh, okay’ cause it’s not like they would know Old Korean Magical Family Traditions. (If your character WOULD know that, hmu.)

FRIENDS

Min-jun doesn’t exactly have a ton in the manner of friends. He just sorta keeps to himself, you know? They’re very close to their sister, and they have a Best Friend who is extremely important to them, but other than that… not a ton? They’re on good terms with the Slytherin girls, I think, the ones in their year/around their age, and on fine-if-not-close terms with the Slytherin guys around their age, but that’s about it. I would LOVE for Min-jun to get more friends. If Min-jun becomes your genuine, true friend, you’ve got a really really good friend for like LIFE, man. They’ll take a bullet for you.

ENEMIES

Honestly, Min-jun has less enemies than he does friends. Which is again, saying something. He’s on real iffy terms with their parents, but that’s about it? If you want someone to have some beef with Min-jun I’m TOTALLY up for it but unless someone’s like, stalking Min-jun or exceedingly annoying, he probably doesn’t have any real beef w/ anyone.

LOVERS

This kid likes guuuuuys. G u y s. Which, as most around him think of them as a girl, is seen as Straight. (Hah. Nah.) I would genuinely love for him to get in a genuine, serious relationship, but like FIRST I would really love for them to get a crush on some just Real Genuine Nice Guy and pine like a forest. Nothing has to HAPPEN. Any sexuality is fine, regardless of whether or not they’re compatible sexuality-wise (especially bc it’s complicated given their current gender presentation) I just want there to be this just. GENUINELY nice boy who treats Min-jun nice and the Slytherin trips head over heels for him. Someone in his age range, so a student obvs, but yeah. Would love this for max entertainment.

PLOTS

Currently, aside from the aforementioned crush, no specific plans. Check out my Wanted Ad for some characters that DO automatically come with Min-jun plots, and thanks for reading this lengthy thing. Sorry my character is Like This Everyone.

So - I've read through their app and the plotter and in a lot of ways Callum is Min-Jun's opposite. He's extroverted, outgoing, prefers the company of many friends or at least a few wherever he goes, and does not like a quiet room. Friendly, non-confrontational, annoyingly inclusive, sympathetic – you get the picture (;.

Bless his heart, Callum is sheltered, not the brightest, and is not at all well-versed in the gender spectrum even though I always pictured his younger sibling, Sophie, as non-binary. Callum would see Min-Jun as he sees his sister - a tomboy. I think if he learned the truth Callum would not understand it even with multiple explanations but accept it anyways. He'd also be bad with pronouns but never maliciously.

To be honest I think Callum is the type of person that would exhaust Min-Jun with his extroversion and positivity. I can see Min-Jun avoiding him, and their snappy nature (at least with what I've seen with Katherine) would leave him highly uncomfortable. He's also in a different house and different year, making the likelihood of friendship more difficult.

If you're down to explore sharing transgenderism with someone brotherly but …dumb, Cal is your guy.

I do think you're right. Callum WOULD probably exhaust Min-jun with his extroversion. Min-jun isn't exactly negative, but calling them a positive person would be pretty blatantly false too, haha. I do think if Callum managed to endear himself enough to Min-jun, though - perhaps by being brotherly in a situation that calls for it? - Min-jun could probably tolerate him with an exhausted fondness for short periods of time, perhaps. As long as Callum isn't TOO obnoxious.

That would... probably be my ideal end result of a situation, honestly? Callum manages to endear himself enough to Min-jun that Min-jun tolerates him with perhaps a little forced fondness, and Min-jun is less snarky/snappy with Callum so that he doesn't make him uncomfortable. Because maybe they COULD get along....... but only for short periods of time, haha.

Idk, how does that sound to you? I mean, we'll have to play it out and if they end up Not Working/clashing too much, well, that's that. The question then becomes how to get them to interact, and specifically how to get them to interact in a way that would keep them around each other and not like just. Immediately leave. (Like, idk, if they ran into each other in the Owlry Min-jun is going to just leave.)

Min-jun is probably the one doing better at classes between the two of them, so tutoring isn't really an option... They're also not a fan of heights so they're not interested in Quidditch in any way... (Wow, these two really are very opposite.) My honest-to-goodness best suggestion would be something in Callum's proficiency as a prefect? Either in a lecturing capacity (eg, Min-jun's in troubleeeeee), or since Min-jun gets sensory overload easy/sometimes has a meltdown in the corner, stepping in in that more brotherly role of calming them down and talking them. The latter would probably be more conducive for them getting along in the future, but Callum attempting to calmly talk to Min-jun/lecture/whatever he wants to attempt would also be very funny.

We could always do both options and just opt for one right now, doing the other later, but again I don't know if what I'm saying appeals to you. Just let me know!
